Shabda is the enigmatic and reclusive mongoose that inspires Chicky to achieve greatness. Shabda believes in and supports Chicky and at the same time answers her questions and teaches her about the world of people. Shabda is a “Yoda-like” character that possesses mysterious powers of cognition, awareness and insight. The name Shabda is defined as the “sound current vibrating in all creation” and the character’s role reflects this image. Shabda avoids people and never interacts or speaks in front of them but absorbs knowledge and transmits energy to all those who he comes in contact with. Shabda is unique among his brethren in that he is a vegetarian and has picked up human traits such as drinking Merlot and eating brie.
